Business License Renewal Deadline / Renew by February 15 to Avoid Penalties

ATLANTA—The City of Atlanta reminds all business owners to renew their annual occupational tax certificates before the February 15, 2025 deadline to avoid penalties. Renewal is quick and easy through the ATLCore Customer Portal.

How to Renew:

  1. Log in to the ATLCore Customer Portal using your registered email.
  2. If your email has changed, contact ATL311 for assistance.
  3. Once logged in:
  4. Click on “My Work”
  5. Select “My Certificates/Licenses/Permits”
  6. Click “RENEW” next to your current license.
  7. Provide the previous year’s actual gross receipts and number of employees.
  8. Upload financial documents to support the reported gross receipts.

 

Key Deadlines:

  • Renewal Deadline – February 15, 2025
  • Payment Deadline – April 1, 2025

Penalties for Non-Compliance:

  • Failure to RENEW by February 15 – $500 failure to file fee
  • Failure to PAY by April 1 – 10% failure to pay fee
  • Unpaid balances – Subject to a 1.5% monthly interest fee

 

Required Financial Documentation:

Businesses must submit one of the following documents to verify gross receipts:

  • 2024 Federal and Georgia State Tax Returns
  • 2024 Profit & Loss Statement
  • 2024 Income Statement

All reported gross receipts may be audited, and failure to upload financial documentation may result in penalties, fees, or citations.
