The City of Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, in partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Constituent Services, will host a Black Maternal Health Lunch & Learn and Resource Fair. This event is dedicated to providing participants with critical information, practical tools, and meaningful community connections that support the health and well-being of Black mothers. The City of Atlanta remains committed to promoting equitable maternal care, and this session will serve as an interactive platform for education, advocacy, and engagement. The City of Atlanta invites community members, health professionals, and advocates to learn, connect, and contribute to enhancing maternal care for Black mothers.
Highlights of the Event
- Expert-Led Conversations – Leaders and advocates in Black maternal health will offer insights on both systemic challenges and practical wellness strategies.
- Interactive Learning – Attendees will participate in dynamic discussions and Q&A sessions designed to foster community dialogue and provide actionable guidance.
- Ongoing Resource Fair – A curated selection of local resources, support networks, and services tailored for Black mothers will be available throughout the event.
- Networking Opportunities – Connect with fellow advocates, health professionals, and community members dedicated to advancing maternal health equity.
- Lunch Provided – The first 100 attendees to check in will receive a complimentary lunch.
Additional Activities
- Letter-Writing Campaign – Onsite, attendees will first learn about the legislative process and the importance of advocacy, then have the opportunity to draft a letter to their legislators, urging them to prioritize Black maternal health in the next legislative session.
- Diaper Drive Collection – Please bring diapers (any size), wipes, and postpartum care items to support Black mothers and families in our community. All donations will benefit Black Mamas Matter Alliance and 4Kira4Moms.
