Statement from Mayor Andre Dickens on Departure of MARTA General Manager & CEO Collie Greenwood
ATLANTA—Mayor Andre Dickens issued the following statement.
“The City of Atlanta thanks Collie Greenwood for his service at MARTA and wishes him success in his next chapter.
“As we look ahead, my Administration remains committed to building a world-class transit system for Atlanta and the entire region. A safe, reliable and connected MARTA is essential to our goals for equity, economic mobility and sustainability, and to my vision of a city built for the future with opportunity for all.
“Thank you to the MARTA Board, specifically Chairwoman Jennifer Ide and Vice Chair Al Pond, for their leadership. I stand ready to work closely with them, along with the leaders of Fulton, DeKalb and Clayton counties, to identify a leader to propel MARTA into the future. This is a pivotal opportunity to accelerate the system improvements and expansions our residents have long called for.
“We will also continue deepening collaboration with fellow municipal leaders across the region to ensure that MARTA keeps pace with our growth.
“Together, we can and will deliver an innovative transit system that moves Atlanta forward.”
