Mayor Dickens Issues Executive Order to Limit Certain Permits to Help Curb
Disruptions for Residents Ahead of FIFA World Cup 2026
ATLANTA—Mayor Andre Dickens signed an Executive Order limiting certain permits during the FIFA World Cup 2026 activations in the Downtown Area. In the Administration’s continuous effort to ensure that FIFA World Cup 2026 does not happen to Atlanta but with Atlanta, this Executive Order will help to minimize additional disruptions to both City operations and the lives of Atlantans during this significant event.
During the period of time we host the world for this once-in-a-lifetime event, life still goes on for our residents—birthdays, anniversaries, annual events and other special occasions.
The Administration’s goal is that all of Atlanta can experience and engage with FIFA World Cup 2026 in the way of their own choosing, and this Executive Order will provide all stakeholders with the appropriate time to develop additional strategies centered around that goal.
