WHAT: Mayor Andre Dickens and the City of Atlanta Department of Parks & Recreation will celebrate the enduring legacy of veteran City of Atlanta Councilmember Ivory Lee Young Jr. with the unveiling of a special plaque in his honor.
Mr. Young served on the Atlanta City Council from 2002 until his passing in 2018. A remarkable leader and dedicated civil servant, his leadership shaped not only the Vine City, English Avenue and Washington Park communities, but the entire City of Atlanta. Among notable accomplishments, Councilmember Young is remembered for his leadership in overseeing the completion of the Mercedes Benz Stadium. The public is invited to attend.
