Mayor Andre Dickens to Join Dr. Bernice King for Fireside Chat to Discuss Administration’s Neighborhood Reinvestment Initiative

WHO:

Mayor Andre Dickens
Dr. Bernice A. King

WHAT:

Mayor Andre Dickens will join Dr. Bernice A. King for a fireside chat at The King Center to discuss the Administration’s Neighborhood Reinvestment Initiative (NRI).

In far too many Atlanta neighborhoods, there is an overwhelming feeling of powerlessness. These neighborhoods are found primarily on the west and south sides of the city, and decades of disinvestment have left these communities with generational scars.

The NRI is a transformative framework to right longstanding wrongs and is a key pillar of Mayor Dickens’ Moving Atlanta Forward agenda, whose “North Star” is making Atlanta the best place to raise a child and bring opportunity, jobs, business growth and choice to underserved areas.

Thursday’s issue-focused discussion will center around how the NRI is designed to bridge gaps across housing, infrastructure, equity and opportunity while advancing the Beloved Community.

Media requested to RSVP to atlmedia@atlantaga.gov.
