Operation Safe Halloween

Atlanta Police partners with Board of Pardons and Parole to monitor sex offenders

The Atlanta Police Department along with the Georgia State Board of Pardons and Parole is taking extra precautions to keep our children safe this Halloween. Atlanta Police Officers and Parole Officers will visit the homes of sex offenders between the hours of 3:00pm and 11:00pm tonight to make sure they are in compliance with state rules.

Registered sex offenders will have a curfew and certain restrictions during trick-or-treat hours. They will be required to stay at home and are not allowed to answer the door or pass out candy. Sex offenders are also required to turn off their outside lights during the evening and have no Halloween décor at their residences.

The mission of the Atlanta Police Department is to reduce crime and promote the quality of life, in partnership with our community.
