Atlanta Police Deputy Chiefs Named Most Influential and Powerful
Women Looking Ahead Magazine honors Deputy Chiefs Cerelyn “C.J.” Davis and Erika Shields
Deputy Chiefs Cerelyn “C.J.” Davis and Erika Shields have been named to Women Looking Ahead News Magazine’s 100s list of Georgia’s Most Powerful and Influential Women.
The magazine celebrates the state’s most powerful and influential women who are making a difference. Nominees are rated on several factors including commitment to professional excellence , ordinary women with extraordinary talents, persevering career challenges, promotion of diversity in the workplace and community service involvement.
“Deputy Chiefs C.J. Davis and Erika Shields have dedicated their careers to serving the City of Atlanta with excellence,” said Police Chief George N. Turner. “Combined these outstanding commanders have more than 44 years of experience and have made significant contributions to the Atlanta Police Department.”
Deputy Chief Davis is a 25-year veteran of the Atlanta Police Department and manages the department’s Strategy and Special Projects Division. Deputy Chief Davis began her law enforcement career in 1986 and was recently promoted to Deputy Chief in January 2014. Deputy Chief Shields leads the Support Services Division where her primary responsibilities include managing the department’s day-to-day operations including a combined budget of more than $200 million. Deputy Chief Shields is a 19-year veteran and joined the department in 1995.
