Women Of Homicide - Atlanta Police Episode PRemiering Tomorrow On TLC
Viewing Party with Inv. Summer Benton

The Atlanta Police Department Homicide Unit is featured in the new television series Women of Homicide. The Atlanta episode will be premiering on Wednesday, April 16th, 2014 at 9 pm/8c on the TLC Network.  There will be a viewing party Wednesday, April 16 at Milltown Tavern, 180 Carroll St. Atlanta, GA 30312.  Doors open at 8pm.

The 8 episode series highlights the work of Atlanta Police Homicide Investigator Summer Benton. Investigator Benton has been with the Atlanta Police for 11 years and with the Homicide Unit for four years. Inspired to become a police officer by her father, Investigator Benton works hard to do her family legacy proud. In her short time on the job, she’s already solved 23 cases and has a special ability to connect with people of all backgrounds, which has earned her the role of Hostage Negotiator for the City of Atlanta.

“Our Homicide Unit is one of the best in the country with a clearance rate 20% above the national average”, said Chief George Turner.  “Investigator Benton is an integral part of the Homicide Unit and gives the viewers a small glimpse of what it’s like to be a homicide detective in the City of Atlanta.”
