Atlanta Police Department Participates In National Prescription Drug Take-Back
The Atlanta Police Department in partnership with the US Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration is sponsoring a National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, September 27th, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day provides a safe and convenient means of disposing of prescription drugs. According to the 2011 Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s national survey, raiding the medicine cabinet of friends or family is how 70 percent of pain prescription drug abusers sustained their abuse.
The Atlanta Police Department is encouraging citizens to participate by donating unused or expired medication at any of its six police precincts.
