EMERGING LEADERS TO GRADUATE FROM ATLANTA POLICE LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE
57 men and women ready to lead
WHO: The Atlanta Police Department is pleased to announce the graduation of 57 men and women from the Atlanta Police Leadership Institute (APLI) on Friday, May 22. The APLI curriculum was designed to prepare future leaders of the Atlanta Police Department to confidently and effectively manage challenges and evolutions facing today’s law enforcement community.
WHAT: APLI is an innovative leadership program established by the Atlanta Police Foundation and Georgia State University. The graduating class consists of 57 officers (22 Lieutenants and 35 Sergeants). Combined, the participants completed 96 hours of classroom and independent study on how to lead. Additionally, graduates participated in discussion forums about communications and the media, as well as legal updates.

• Dave Wilkinson, Atlanta Police Foundation
• J. Britt Johnson, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Atlanta Division
• Mary Beth Walker, Georgia State University
• Dean Dabney, Georgia State University
