The Atlanta Police Department is proud to announce the graduation of Class #241 to be held tonight at 7:00 pm at the City Hall Council Chambers located at 55 Trinity Avenue.

Class #241 consists of 15 new officers and the graduation ceremony concludes 22 weeks of rigorous training at the Atlanta Police Academy, along with 12 weeks of field training with veteran officers. The training includes classroom courses in constitutional law, Atlanta Police Department policy and procedure, hands-on defensive tactics, arrest techniques and daily physical fitness. The Citizens Police Academy Class #26 will also participate in the graduation with 10 new members.

The keynote speaker for tonight’s ceremony is John A. Horn, United States Attorney in the Northern District of Georgia (NDGA). Mr. Horn has been a federal prosecutor since 2002 and previously served as First Assistant U.S. Attorney, Chief of the office's Appellate Division, and Deputy Chief of the Narcotics Section for the NDGA. Before joining the U.S. Attorney's office, Mr. Horn worked in the white collar crime section at King & Spalding and also clerked for Judge Stanley F. Birch Jr. of the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, as well as Judge Harold L. Murphy of the U.S. District Court.
