Atlanta Police To Offer Active Shooter Presentation
Citizens are invited to hear vital information

 

The Atlanta Police Department along with the Mayor’s Office of Constituent Services will present an Active Shooter Presentation on Tuesday, January 19, 2016. The event will take place at the Atlanta Civic Center, located at 395 Piedmont Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30308 from 6:00pm-8:00pm.

The presentation will address strategies, guidance and plans for surviving an active shooter event. Attendees will learn about the Avoid, Deny, Defend strategy developed by the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) in 2004. Topics will also include the history and prevalence of active shooter events, the role of law enforcement and civilian response options.

This is the first of a series of presentations that will take place in the City of Atlanta. An RSVP is not required and the event will be on a first come, first serve. Free parking will be available.
