Atlanta Police Make Arrest In 1988 Cold Case
The Atlanta Police Department has made an arrest in the 1988 homicide of Leonard Hill. Willie Taylor, 74, was arrested Monday, February 1 by the APD Fugitive Unit and charged with murder. On June 26, 1988 Hill’s body was found dumped on the side of the road on Rawson St, at Formwalt St, S.W. Hill died from two gunshot wounds.
In 2015, Atlanta Police investigators received new information that led to a lengthy investigation resulting in Taylor’s arrest. “The investigators in the APD Homicide Unit work non-stop to help close cases because it’s important to bring closure to the victim’s family,” said Chief George Turner. “We won’t rest in our efforts to solve crimes, no matter how long it takes.”
Taylor has been booked into the Fulton County Jail.
