Atlanta Police Presents Active Shooter Presentation
Citizens are invited to hear vital information
ATLANTA – The Atlanta Police Department along with the Mayor’s Office of Constituent Services will present an Active Shooter Presentation on Wednesday, March 16, 2016. The event will take place at the Peachtree Hills Recreation Center, located at 308 Peachtree Hills Avenue NE, Atlanta, GA from 6:00pm-8:00pm.
After the success of the previously held active shooter presentations, Atlanta Police are eager to provide citizens with more opportunities to participate in the informative presentations.
Attendees will learn strategies and plans for surviving an active shooter event. The presentation will address the Avoid, Deny, Defend strategy developed by the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) in 2004. Topics will also include the history and prevalence of active shooter events, the role of law enforcement and civilian response options.
Free parking will be available.
