Atlanta Police Share Ideas with International Law Enforcement Officials
(Atlanta) – The Atlanta Police Department recently hosted a delegation of Nigerian law enforcement officials. The seven-member delegation visited the Atlanta Police Department’s Police Training Academy where they learned how to effectively recruit and train officers. The officials were in the United States, May 8th -11th, as part of the Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program.
During the visit, participants exchanged ideas, shared best practices and gained a better understanding of how their international counterparts work in their respective agencies.
The Atlanta Police Department’s partnership with the Department of State allows the department to make an impact on the law enforcement community across the globe. Since 2011, the Atlanta Police Department has partnered with the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) on various initiatives to support law enforcement and anti-crime efforts overseas.
