City of Atlanta Fire Rescue Department to Host Ninth Annual Open House

ATLANTA – The City of Atlanta Fire Rescue Department (AFRD) will host its ninth Annual Open House on Saturday, June 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All fire stations across the City of Atlanta will be open to the public, giving visitors the opportunity to meet their firefighters and tour their local station houses.

Fire Station 9, located at 3501 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. SW, will serve as the main station for the open house event and will feature a DJ and a visit from the Atlanta Hawks Flight Crew. The event will offer programs and activities, including fire safety education, preventive health screenings, a car seat safety workshop, smoke alarm giveaways and food and music.

“We encourage the entire community to come and enjoy our annual open house event. Our firefighters look forward to this event every year,” said Fire Chief Joel Baker. “This is an opportunity for residents and visitors to come out and engage one-on-one with their neighborhood firefighters. Atlanta residents can be proud of their award-winning, internationally-recognized Fire Rescue Department, and we are proud to host this fun, community-building event.”

Atlanta residents and visitors are always welcome to visit Atlanta Fire Rescue Stations throughout the City for blood pressure screenings and emergency medical services 24 hours a day.
