Atlanta Police Department to hold Youth Empowerment Day
In Partnership with the Atlanta Chapter of the National Basketball Retired Players Association and Morehouse College
The Atlanta Police Department in partnership with the Atlanta Chapter of the National Basketball Retired Players Association and Morehouse College will host a FREE day long summit
for City of Atlanta youth ages 8-16 for candid talk about youth concerns. Members of the Atlanta Police Gang Unit and Retired NBA Players will speak to the kids in three rotating workshops.
The summit will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2016 from 11:00am-4:00pm at Morehouse College’s Forbes Arena, 830 Westview Dr. SW. The arena is at the corner of Atlanta Student Movement Blvd and Joseph E. Lowery Blvd.
After the workshops, there will be a celebrity basketball game which will be open to the public as well as a mini-concert by DC Young Fly. Lunch will be provided to the youth participants as well as a gift bag with tickets to the December 17 Atlanta Hawks game vs the Charlotte Hornets.
Free parking will be available across the street from the arena at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 200 Joseph E Lowery Blvd SW, Atlanta, GA 30314
