Mayor Kasim Reed Wishes the City of Atlanta a Safe and Happy July 4th Holiday

City of Atlanta government offices and municipal court closed on Monday, July 3, 2017

ATLANTA – Mayor Kasim Reed announced today that City of Atlanta government offices and the municipal court will be closed on Monday, July 3, 2017 in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

“Independence Day is a time for everyone in Atlanta to celebrate being an American,” said Mayor Reed. “And as a thank you to the thousands of men and women who work hard throughout the year in service to our community, I have issued an executive order for the administrative closure of city offices on July 3, giving city employees a day off so that they can spend that extra time with their families.”

Essential staff will report to work as determined by department supervisors. City offices will remain closed on July 4 and will re-open on Wednesday, July 5, 2017.

Also, in observance of the Independence Day holiday, there will be no solid waste collection service on Tuesday, July 4, 2017. Solid waste pick-up services, including household garbage, recycling and yard trimmings will be delayed by one day for all customers as follows:
