Mayor Kasim Reed Thanks MARTA General Manager and CEO Keith Parker for His Service
ATLANTA - “For nearly five years, Keith Parker and I have worked closely to advance a shared vision for expanding the benefits of public transit in our city and region.
The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) is one of our city and region’s most important assets. As General Manager, Keith Parker brought a new level of leadership to the agency through his focus on performance, customer experience and financial stability.
This past November, voters overwhelmingly approved a 40-year, $2.6 billion expansion of MARTA within the City of Atlanta. To date, the MARTA expansion has earned the highest level of voter support for any transit referendum in the nation. I am deeply proud of what we were able to accomplish together.
Keith set a new standard for the role of General Manager. I cannot compliment him enough on the terrific job he did at a pivotal time for one of the most important public transit agencies in the nation.
I offer my sincere congratulations to Keith on his new role, and wish him the best as he begins this new chapter in his career.”
