Mayor Reed will be joined by GDOT Commissioner Russel McMurry and Georgia Tech President Dr. G.P. “Bud” Peterson to celebrate the launch of the North Avenue Smart Corridor Demonstration Project.

The North Avenue Smart Corridor Demonstration Project, funded by the Renew Atlanta Infrastructure Bond, leverages multiple “smart” technologies that will convert data into actionable information to transform operations in this important corridor.

The project deploys the latest technology in adaptive signal systems for a safer and more efficient flow of all modes of transportation. The technology also facilitates improved emergency response by prioritizing fire engines and ambulances traveling through the corridor.

The event will feature an autonomous vehicle demonstration.
