City of Atlanta Department of Atlanta Information Management to Host Experience SmartATL

ATLANTA –The City of Atlanta announced today that it will host its inaugural "Experience SmartATL,” an event designed to showcase Atlanta’s Smart City initiatives. The event will take place on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Ponce City Market, located at 675 Ponce de Leon Ave NE Atlanta, GA 30308, from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

More than 30 technology vendors will participate in “Experience SmartATL,” including Microsoft, AT&T, IBM, Skignz, Georgia Power and Georgia Tech. City officials and partners from the Cty’s growing technology sector will be on hand to discuss emerging technologies in mobility, public safety, IT infrastructure, public and business engagement and economic development.

"Atlanta’s Smart City vision is fundamentally based on our need to collect, analyze, and democratize data about our city in ways we’ve never done so before ensuring an improved quality of life for all residents,” said Chief Information Officer, Samir Saini.  “We believe this data will enable us to not only solve the challenges of today, but also predict and even prevent the challenges of tomorrow. We invite the public to learn and experience how the City of Atlanta and its partners are turning our Smart City vision into reality.”
