Signature Programs Unit

Purpose:

To lead citywide workforce initiatives that target youth, young adults, and special populations through innovative and high-impact programming.

Key Functions:

• Administers all Signature Program youth employment services, including:
  • The Mayor’s Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP)
  • The Mayor’s Youth Leadership Institute (MYLI)
• Designs career readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy pathways for youth ages 14–24.
• Manage partnerships with philanthropic organizations to fund and scale citywide youth employment opportunities.
  • Annie E. Casie Foundation (AECF) – Summer-to-Perm Employment
  • Arthur M. Blank Foundation (PACE)
• Expand workforce innovation pilots
  • SCEI
• Coordinate with workforce partners to facilitate career readiness bootcamps designed to equip residents with essential workforce skills

  • o· Builds and maintains strategic partnerships with private, nonprofit, and government employers to expand job opportunities.
  • Hosts employer engagement events and career fairs to match residents with high-demand industries
