The State of Georgia has adopted new building codes which the City of Atlanta will be implementing beginning January 1, 2020.
JANUARY 1, 2020 New building codes adopted. Project applications accepted prior to January 1, 2020 will be reviewed by the 2012 ICC Code Editions. There will be a 30-day transition period until January 31, 2020.
FEBRUARY 1, 2020
Transition period ends. All project applications submitted must use newly adopted codes and will be reviewed likewise

NOTICE OF NEW EV READY ORDINANCE (18-O-1143) Effective July 1, 2018. This ordinance requires all new parking spaces associated with new construction for commercial and residential occupancies must have the infrastructure for electric vehicle charging stations installed.
