The Atlanta City Studio is a pop-up urban design studio within the City of Atlanta’s Department of City Planning. Our space serves as an incubator, workspace, and meeting place for residents, visitors, design professionals, and curious urbanists to connect and learn from each other. It is a place for City departments, agencies, and the public to collaborate on design projects that will shape our city.
The work of the Studio is an extension of the Atlanta City Design project as it continues to explore answers to the following two questions:
- What is Atlanta’s DNA?
- How do we design a city for everyone?

Come Visit Us!
Our space is designed to celebrate and build momentum for design excellence in our city. That means embedding ourselves in neighborhoods where Atlantans live. The Studio moves to a different location within the City to learn from and collaborate with different communities. We are currently located in Cascade Heights in Southwest Atlanta.
We are a facilitator, a forum, and a resource to help create the Atlanta we aspire to become through lectures, book talks, film series, open forums, urban art presentations, and other community engagement and design programs. Typically all events are free and open to the public. RSVPs may be requested for some larger events in order to help our Studio team to prepare accordingly.
