The purpose of the City of Atlanta Urban Enterprise Zone (UEZ) Program is to encourage private development and redevelopment in areas of the City or on sites which otherwise would unlikely be developed due to the existence of certain characteristics of the area or site. An “urban enterprise zone” (UEZ) is a designated district that is located within an economically-depressed area of the City where property owners receive a tax abatement over a ten- year period, if certain conditions are met.
The City of Atlanta is required to produce an annual report to demonstrate both the efficiency and effectiveness of our UEZ program. Please click here see the most recent UEZ report for the City of Atlanta. This report will help you better understand how the program performed in 2018 and see how the City of Atlanta leveraged it as an efficient economic development incentive.
