We’re grateful for your interest in helping care for Atlanta’s beautiful parks, vibrant greenspaces, and supporting exciting programming at our recreation centers. Volunteers like you play a vital role in keeping our parks clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone, and bring vitality to our recreation centers. The Department of Parks & Recreation proudly collaborates with a network of dedicated partners who lead volunteer initiatives across the city. If you or your group would like to get involved, please connect with one of the trusted organizations listed below to find a project that’s right for you. Remember, all volunteers are required to complete our volunteer waiver.
  • Park Pride – Connect with one of over 90 Friends of the Park groups across the city through Park Pride and join a park cleanup or beautification effort. Park Pride also creates custom volunteer experiences for corporate or other large groups. Learn More.
  • Piedmont Park Conservancy – Offers regular volunteer opportunities during the week at Atlanta’s most visited park. Custom projects are also available. Learn More.
  • Chastain Park Conservancy – Support volunteer efforts at this North Atlanta gem. Custom projects are also available. Learn More.
  • Historic Oakland Foundation – Volunteers lead tours of Oakland Cemetery, staff the Visitor Center, and work in the gardens. They also assist with special events hosted throughout the year. Learn More.
  • Grant Park Conservancy – Regular workdays are held on the 2nd Saturday and 3rd Friday of each month. Learn More.
  • West Atlanta Watershed Alliance (WAWA) – Offers diverse volunteer opportunities, including creek clean-ups, water quality monitoring, and urban forestry service days. WAWA hosts a Service Learning Saturday on the first Saturday of every month (excluding January and July) from 10 AM to 1 PM. Activities include trail maintenance, invasive plant removal, and native plant installation. Learn More.
  • Atlanta Beltline Partnership (ABP) – Provides various ways to volunteer for groups and individuals to support the Atlanta Beltline through trail beautification projects, serving as event leads, guiding bike tours, and more. Custom projects are also available. Learn More.
  • Olmsted Linear Park Alliance – Hosts monthly Saturday workdays to beautify and support Atlanta’s network of historic Olmsted parks. Learn More.
  • Blue Heron Nature Preserve – Support the ongoing care of this peaceful nature preserve in North Atlanta. Learn More.
  • South Fork Conservancy – Volunteers are needed to support creek restoration efforts and nature trail development. Learn More.
  • Cascade Springs Nature Conservancy – Assist in the ongoing care and restoration of Southwest Atlanta’s pristine nature preserve. Learn More.
  • Alliance for the Activation of Cook Park – Support the ongoing care of this beloved park located just west of Downtown Atlanta. Learn More.
  • Candler Park Conservancy – Frequent workdays are hosted to support this East Atlanta park. Learn More.
  • Atlanta Memorial Park Conservancy – Engage in beautification and restoration efforts at this beautiful park in Northwest Atlanta. Learn More.
  • Historic Fourth Ward Park Conservancy – Community workdays focus on various projects such as picking up trash or spreading pine straw in the landscape beds. Learn More.
  • Chattahoochee Riverkeeper – Participate in volunteer opportunities to help keep our parks’ waterways clean and healthy. Learn More.
  • Trees Atlanta – Engage in planting trees and removing invasive plants in Atlanta’s parks and neighborhoods. Learn More.
  • DPR Recreation Center Volunteer Coach – Help coach track and field, baseball, girls and boys flag football, cheerleading, football, and more! Learn More.
