Trails ATL – what’s that?

You all told us in surveys that you want more trails usable by residents of all ages and all physical abilities. To help make that happen, the Department of Parks & Recreation has partnered with the PATH Foundation to create a city-wide trail plan called Trails ATL. The plan is laying out a citywide network of safe, inviting, and equitably accessed trails.

Why do we need trails?

Trails get you places you want to go by walking, biking or using a wheelchair or scooter – all of which promote physical and mental health and provide transportation and recreation that is affordable and fun. Trails bring family and friends together to enjoy Atlanta’s beauty and inspiring history. We need to plan and build trails because you want and need trails.
