Volunteer Coaches
Volunteering as a coach in our recreation centers is a rewarding way to make a positive impact on Atlanta's youth. We are seeking dedicated volunteers to assist with coaching in various sports programs, including track and field, baseball, girls and boys flag football, cheerleading, and football. Your involvement helps foster teamwork, discipline, and healthy lifestyles among young athletes. Join us in creating a supportive and engaging environment where children can thrive both on and off the field.
To become a volunteer coach with DPR, you’ll need to complete the volunteer coach process which includes submitting an application, passing a background check, and free certification and training through the National Alliance for Youth Sports. To learn about all the necessary steps and to receive a volunteer application, please reach out to your local recreation center directly, or call Cedric Jordan, Recreation Program Supervisor, at cdjordan@atlantaga.gov or 404-658-7117.
