Description: The City of Atlanta’s Law Department plans to host two to four law students for a nine (9) week summer program during the summer of 2017. Summer Associates will have the opportunity to spend approximately three (3) weeks in three (3) of the Law Department’s practice groups – Watershed Management, Finance and Infrastructure, Litigation and Employment and Aviation. Summer Associates will have the opportunity to complete substantive work assignments related to municipal law practice (i.e. conducting legal research, drafting and reviewing basic legal correspondence and agreements and providing legal analysis) and will also observe various court appearances, board meetings and City Council meetings.Compensation: Volunteer
