Chandra Houston, Commissioner
Chandra Houston is an executive with more than 30 years of experience in corporate, transactional, procurement and municipal law. Known for her strategic insight and sound judgment, she has built a reputation as a trusted problem solver who delivers practical solutions that support organizational success.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Houston served as Deputy City Attorney, leading the Business Services Law Division in support of procurement, real estate, and contractual matters. She also led the Contracts Management Services Team, where she standardized contract language, strengthened negotiation processes, and developed the department’s first Negotiation Playbook. Her corporate leadership experience includes serving as Director of Compliance at Georgia-Pacific’s North American Consumer Products Division, where she established the division’s first compliance and ethics program and supported major strategic transactions.
A native Atlantan, Ms. Houston is deeply committed to community advancement, having played a key leadership role in the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood master plan and serving on the McPherson Implementing Local Redevelopment Authority. She also serves as an advisory board member at Word of Faith Family Worship Center. She is an honors graduate of Georgia State University and earned her Juris Doctor from Howard University School of Law.
