As COVID-19 (Coronavirus) developments continue, the Department of Public Works is committed to remaining agile. The safety of our customers, volunteers, and staff is our primary concern. Knowing this, we have decided to suspend community events and activities. Departmental updates regarding non-essential activities can be found below.

Solid Waste Collections & Operations

No change to solid waste services

  • Spring Citywide Scrap Tire Amnesty – Postponed until further notice
  • Monthly Atlanta Recycles Day at Greenbriar Mall – Cancelled March | April TBD
  • 50th Earth Day Month Events | April
    • Comcast Cares Day at Greenbriar Mall – Cancelled
    • Plogging on the Beltline – TBD
    • Atlanta United/FB Alternatives Workday – TBD
    • Fulton C. Library Earth Day Event – Cancelled
    • Earth Day Buckhead Shoe Drive – TBD
    • Gorilla Glue Earth Day Workday – Postponed 

Education & Outreach

  • Atlanta Recycles Day at Greenbriar Mall – Cancelled March | April TBD
  • Spring 2020 Code Academy – Postponed March 28 start date | 5-week course
  • WAWA Science Festival – Cancelled
  • Flat Iron Outreach Event – Cancelled

Community Cleanups

  • Weekly Cleanups – Suspended through March 31
  • Great American Cleanup – Spring start date postponed | End date extended through September 20

  • ATL311 & SWEET Training – postponed until May
