The City of Atlanta Public Parking Management Program is committed to improving traffic flow in the city and maximizing the utilization of parking spaces for the public, residents, business owners, tourists and employees. We are responsible for oversight of services regarding ATLPlus:
- Maintenance of parking meters and regulatory signage
- Customer service
- Parking meter collections
- On-street parking and right-of-way regulation enforcement
- Parking citation processing and delinquent collection servicesVehicle booting and towing services.
All services are performed in accordance with City regulations and guidelines per Atlanta City Ordinance 09-O-0765.
To develop a public parking system that enhances the parking experience for all road users and support the changing needs of Atlanta’s multi-modal transportation system.

Members of the Office of Transportation Parking management team will at all times strive to be respectful, courteous, and professional to the citizens we serve. We will work to ensure that all interactions with ATLPlus and the parking management team are positive and meet high standards of customer service. If not, we will work to resolve your concerns in a prompt and objective way.
Parking Enforcement Zones
In accordance with the recommendations of the Atlanta City Council Transportation Sub-Committee on Parking Enforcement, the Department of Public Works utilizes parking zones throughout the ATLPlus On-street Parking Management Program. The parking zones in are: business, entertainment, government, hospital, restaurant, schools, and mixed use. These zones are in metered locations to accommodate the uses of particular areas.
This is an area where parking is occupied by patrons of business or government offices which high need for parking turnover. Parking meters are used Monday through Saturday starting at 7:00 am an ending at 7:00 pm. The maximum parking time limit in business/government zones is two hours.
Mixed Use Zone
This is an area where buildings have multiple uses which include both residential and commercial but do not have off-street parking. Parking meters are used Monday through Friday, starting at 8:00 am and ending at 6:00 pm. The maximum parking time limit in Mixed Use zones is three hours.
This is an area where the majority of parking is occupied by attendees of post-secondary colleges and/or universities. Parking meters are used Monday through Saturday, starting at 7:00 am and ending at 7:00 pm. The maximum parking time limit in School/University zones is three hours.
Entertainment, Restaurant and Hospital Zone
This is an area where the majority of parking is occupied by patrons of theaters, museums, restaurants, other entertainment venues, and hospitals. Parking meters are used Monday through Saturday, starting at 7:00 am and ending at 10:00 pm. The maximum parking time limit in Entertainment, Restaurant, and Hospital zones is four hours.
Parking enforcement does not occur on Sundays and the following City observed holidays:
- New Year’s Day (January 1st)
- Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (Third Monday of January)
- Memorial Day (Last Monday of May)
- Independence Day (July 4th)
- Labor Day (First Monday of September)
- Veteran’s Day (November 11th)
- Thanksgiving Day (Fourth Thursday of November)
- Christmas Day (December 25th)
Holidays NOT listed here are NOT observed by the City of Atlanta. Parking enforcement does occur on all other holidays not listed here.
