|Amnesty Clean-Up Day
Residents are encouraged to join the Departments of Public Works, Corrections and the Atlanta Police Code Enforcement and Keep Atlanta Beautiful Commission for the Mayor's Neighborhood “Clean It Up” Campaign.
This is a concentrated effort to host a citywide amnesty clean-up day monthly where residents will not be fined for trash/debris around their property. The clean-up will focus on cleaning up litter and debris in a different quadrant of the city each month.
The following clean-up is scheduled this month:
September 23, 2017
Oakland City Community
Council District 4
8:00 am - 12:00 noon
Streets to be serviced include:
Nelson Street Bridge Closure
Nelson Street Bridge Closure - Effective immediately, the Nelson Street Bridge is closed for pedestrian use. The Nelson Street Bridge will not reopen due to extensive deterioration of major bridge components associated with the age of the structure. Public safety is of paramount importance, and the City of Atlanta is working diligently to announce plans for a replacement bridge, which will be funded through the Renew Atlanta bond program.
