The Atlanta Police Department is pleased to announce that Chief George N. Turner has been elected to the position of 2nd Vice President on the Major Cities Chiefs Association (MCCA) Executive Board. Chief Turner will serve in this post until December 2017.

On May 5, 2015, Atlanta Police Narcotics Team 3 and the DEA Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement Team (CLET), supported by Georgia State Patrol executed a search warrant at 1931 Compton Dr SE in Zone 3 in Atlanta, GA. Investigators discovered a fully operational methamphetamine conversion laboratory.

The Atlanta Police Department sent 8 K-9 teams to compete in the United States Police Canine Association (USPCA) Region 22 Top Dog Awards in Narcotics Detection April 12-17 in Decatur, Alabama. The USPCA competition is an annual competition that allows officers and their canines to compete in a variety of challenges.

On March 25, 2015, Atlanta Police Narcotics Team 3 and the DEA Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement Team (CLET), supported by HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area) executed simultaneous search warrants at 2318 and 2330 Nelms Drive in Atlanta, GA. Investigators discovered a fully operational methamphetamine conversion laboratory at 2318 Nelms Drive as well as a substantial amount of methamphetamine in various stages of production located 2330 Nelms Drive.
