Meet the Community Engagement Team of the Mayor’s Office of Constituent Services
The Community Engagement Team within the Mayor’s Office of Constituent Services is dedicated to strengthening relationships between City Hall and the residents of Atlanta. Serving as the “boots on the ground” for Mayor Andre Dickens’ administration, this team works directly with neighborhoods to listen, respond, and connect communities with city resources. Led by our Director of Community Engagement, Mr. Demetrius McCray, the team is strategically organized into sectors to ensure every area of the city receives focused and effective support:
- Caitlin King, MPA – Community Affairs Manager, North Sector
- Donovan A. Dodds – Community Affairs Manager, South Sector
- Charla R. Mitchell – Community Affairs Manager, East Sector
- Gideon Burras – Community Affairs Manager, West Sector
- F. Keith Slaughter, M.Div, ThD – Customer Assurance Specialist
Together, we implement Mayor Dickens' vision for a stronger, more connected Atlanta by attending community meetings, addressing constituent concerns, supporting public events, and fostering partnerships with local organizations. The team is committed to equity, transparency, and service—ensuring that every voice in every neighborhood is heard. We look forward to collaborating with you, and previous activations have included:
- Something’s On Your Mind: A community event dedicated to supporting men’s mental health and well-being. This free resource event offers a welcoming, judgment-free space to explore mental wellness, connect with local mental health professionals, and learn about services specifically designed for men.
- Aging Well Community Conversations: A series of events where we meet directly with senior residents to listen, learn, and engage in meaningful dialogue about the issues that matter most. These gatherings offer
a relaxed and welcoming environment where seniors can share their experiences, ask questions, and hear updates on city services, programs, and policies that impact aging Atlantans. Our team brings a little extra fun — hosting lively games of bingo alongside open discussions on topics such as public safety, transportation, housing, and access to healthcare.
- Partnering with the Community: Memorial in Motion & West End Mall Closing: Our team plays a vital role in helping residents navigate change, and access to city resources, through hands-on support and thoughtful partnerships. During 'Memorial in Motion', our team partnered with the Memorial Park Conservancy and Atlanta Parks and Recreation to create a day of health, wellness, and civic pride at the Bobby Jones Golf Course. We helped coordinate logistics, promote the event across neighborhoods, and connect residents with city programs focused on healthy aging, mobility, and park access.
- West End Mall Transition: When the West End Mall closure was announced, our team stepped in to ensure the transition was met with care and communication. By working closely with neighborhood leaders, city departments, and local organizations, we helped coordinate a community celebration to welcome the next chapter to the West End community.
