Faces of the City is an initiative led by the Mayor’s Office of Constituent Services to recognize individuals who are making a meaningful difference across Atlanta. Each honoree is a reflection of the strength, service, and spirit that defines our city.

Faces of the City 2025 – Celebrating Atlanta's Changemakers

On May 2, 2025, the Mayor’s Office of Constituent Services hosted the inaugural Faces of the City Awards—a private ceremony honoring a select group of changemakers from across Atlanta. Held inside City Hall, this invite-only celebration brought together honorees, nominees, and their guests for an unforgettable evening of recognition and connection.

From the Red Carpet Welcome to the powerful award presentations, the event spotlighted individuals who are shaping Atlanta’s future through compassion, leadership, and service.


2025 Honorees

Outstanding Community Business

The Black Coffee Company – Christopher Bolden & Jamin Butler

An Atlanta-based business with locations at Morehouse College and in Lakewood Heights, Black Coffee Company integrates entrepreneurship, workforce development, and community programming — including student employment, scholarships, and financial literacy mentorship. Success Highlight: Hosts the annual Black Coffee Fest, drawing over 2,000 attendees and featuring 80+ Black-owned vendors, artists, and speakers focused on economic empowerment.

Exceptional Youth Ambassador

Akiem Williams – The Gentlemen’s Foundation

Akiem is a passionate advocate for youth empowerment, using his platform to inspire the next generation of leaders through mentorship, education, and community-building. As a youth ambassador, he creates safe spaces for young people to thrive, develop self-confidence, and explore their potential—especially those navigating identity, purpose, and belonging. Success Highlight: Launched a citywide youth summit that brought together over 150 teens for workshops on leadership, identity, and mental wellness, with continued mentorship opportunities offered through the Foundation.

Neighborhood Leadership Award

Meloni Boatswain – Community Leader, Atlanta Influencer & Connector

Meloni is a powerhouse in civic engagement and cultural impact. Through her work as a community builder, she bridges neighborhoods, resources, and voices—elevating initiatives that center equity, access, and authentic representation across Atlanta. Success Highlight: Spearheaded the Community Champions Brunch, honoring grassroots leaders and connecting over 100 local advocates to funding, media exposure, and city resources.

The 2026 Faces of the City celebration will continue our tradition of honoring those who uplift Atlanta through acts of service and leadership. This special event will remain an intimate and meaningful gathering of changemakers and their loved ones who help move our city forward.
