City of Atlanta Employee Resource Groups

What is an ERG?

Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are voluntary, employee-led groups where employees can come together to build community and impactful relationships within the City of Atlanta.  ERGs are oriented towards equity as they are brave spaces where employee groups can thrive in the workplace. These spaces are meant to foster community, further professional development, and build connections across identities.

At the City of Atlanta, ERGs serve as both community-building spaces and strategic partners. They support professional growth, foster collaboration across departments, and contribute to initiatives that strengthen the employee experience and how the City serves residents.

Provide mentorship, leadership development, networking, and skill-building opportunities.

Leadership and Governance

Each ERG is led by a volunteer leadership team, which may include chairs, co-chairs, committee leads, and coordinators. Leaders are responsible for guiding strategy, planning programming, managing communication, and ensuring alignment with City policies and priorities.

ERG leaders partner with the Mayor’s Office of One Atlanta to strengthen impact, coordinate efforts, and expand opportunities for engagement across the City.

Members can:
