The proposed $539 million spending plan maintains and expands the Reed Administration’s top priorities, which include improving public safety; restoring fiscal stability; investing in youth development; fostering job growth and economic development; and improving customer service.

A new law prohibiting such solicitation went into effect on Nov. 9. Atlanta Police officers will be vigilant for violations and stand ready to enforce the new law. We believe the law strikes a balance as a reasonable, humane and enforceable way to stop aggressive monetary solicitation.

The City of Atlanta has launched its first-ever Customer Service Bill of Rights which articulates the City’s commitment to customer service excellence. Six new customer service goals make up the City of Atlanta’s new Customer Service Bill of Rights.

The Municipal Option Sales Tax is a penny sales tax that applies to most goods purchased in the City of Atlanta. These funds allow visitors and business people who use the City’s water and sewer infrastructure but do not pay City water/sewer bills to help pay for upgrading and maintenance of the infrastructure. This is NOT a new tax; it is the reauthorization of an existing tax. The MOST reauthorization measure will be on the March 6, 2012 primary ballot.
